Corporate representatives

This post from Slashdot sums up my thoughts exactly.

“I love the idea of a sponsored congressman. They should go to work each day dressed like those NASCAR drivers. Logos all over the place, head to toe. He pauses in the middle of his speach to take a refreshing drink of Coca-Cola. Ahhhhh.

“Hell lets stop pretending anymore. Lets create corporate representatives and get our elected ones back. All these probablems coming from the fact that corporations are seen as people in the eyes of the law. Make the House, the Senate and the Market. People elect the first two, corporations vote for the third and can’t contribute to the others.”

Strange site

I was googling my name and I came across this site. Can’t really figure out what it is. At least it’s in English, unlike the former patik.com (just before I registered it) and current patik.net. What does my name mean? Who are these people? And how much money will they give me for this domain?

Politician’s opinions

Why should anyone care what politicians think anymore? They all spout the same predictable crap that their party believes in. I couldn’t help but laugh while reading that Condoleeza Rice thinks Bush will go down in history as the next FDR or Churchill. It’s obvious now that he never will be regarded at that level, as great leaders were popular and respect by their constituents. Bush’s best hope is to not be remembered as a miserable failure. Great leaders have the backing of their followers and act in the best interest of the followers, not themselves.

Patents

Patents are insane in this country. Anyone who follows Slashdot would know. It’s a long thing to get into, and difficult to explain, but here’s a good example.

Junior high sex racket probed

Brockton authorities are probing an alleged junior high prostitution racket, including whether to charge a 13-year-old girl accused of pressuring her mentally impaired friend into turning tricks for as little as $5.

Wonderful.
